The Garden

Lancaster County soil is the richest non-irrigated soil in the country. That’s why everyone grows flowers! When we moved to the inn, the only flowers were on the lilac bushes. Now, after eighteen years of planting and growing – and friends sharing their flowers with us – our beds are established, mature, and…some might say overflowing.

We are also blessed to have so many local small nurseries – they carry everything from the common red geranium to plants usually only available by mail order. Whether it is a small Amish greenhouse or a large-scale commercial nursery that grows 80,000 mums every year, we know them all! So be sure an ask for our favorite nursery list.

We’re so proud of our gardens! They were featured in Fine Gardening From Poison Ivy to Flowers.
