 
Christmas Eve "Christmas Eve" features the John F. Craig House, a Victorian Bed and Breakfast in historic Cape May, New Jersey. Unlike other media, colored pencil allows the artist to apply several layers of different color onto the paper surface. This placement of one color over another creates subtle and complex tones, adding richness and depth to a drawing. The scene was first drawn as if it were a daytime view, then layers of blue and blue violet were added to turn it into a night scene.
